CLINICIAN BIOS

Farah Kaiksow, MD, MPP, Medical Director

Dr. Farah Kaiksow is a faculty member in the Division of Hospital Medicine within the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Kaiksow provides clinical instruction to medical students and residents on the inpatient wards. She teaches "The Intersection of Incarceration and Health," an elective course for medical students that includes such topics as infection control, addiction, and mental health, conducting research within correctional facilities, and caring for chronic conditions after release. She is Senior Deputy Editor at the Journal of Hospital Medicine, Chair of the ACP-WI Resident/Fellow Committee, and serves on the Society of Hospital Medicine Research Committee. She serves as the Medical Director for the Perry Family Free Clinic.

Max Kemnitzer, APNP

Max chose to become a provider to try and impact his patient’s health and well-being on a larger scale. He previously worked in the UnityPoint Health-Meriter Emergency Department as a nurse and as a Nurse Practitioner in Internal Medicine. He has seen the patient and health care system relationship firsthand and is excited to continue to provide care to his patients in a primary care setting. Max is interested in helping to alleviate his patients’ acute symptoms and manage chronic conditions. He prides himself on his working relationships with his patients by including them in decision-making and making sure they understand his point of view as a provider. Additionally, Max’s interests include metabolic disease, mental health, and preventative care. In his free time, Max enjoys playing golf, exercising, watching basketball and football, and spending time with his wife and son.

Scott Wilson, DO

Dr. Scott Wilson is a faculty member of the Division of Hospital Medicine within the Department of Medicine. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, the Society of Hospital Medicine, and the American Osteopathic Association. As a hospitalist, Dr. Wilson focuses on moving patients safely through their hospital stay and facilitating the transition to outpatient care. Dr. Wilson is also actively involved in the teaching of residents and fellows.
